Dear Students, Parents & Community Members,
I want to start by saying thank you for an incredible year. This year we celebrated the diversity of our school in multicultural night, enjoyed grade level musicals, honored our students who represent the best in all of us during our monthly Star Bucks breakfasts and showed our respect for those who worked so diligently to make the honor roll. The purpose of school is to learn how to critically think for one’s self. As we faced an end of year so different than what we have had in the past, our students and community showed their ability to think outside the box. Families used cell phones, computers, tablets and pictures to share their hard work. Our cafeteria staff worked daily to make sure our entire community was fed as we adjusted to life during a pandemic. We now face another crisis, although one of the conscience. Regardless of how we return to school in the fall, Forsyth Woods ES will be here to help our students through these difficult times and help them learn that all children are valued and loved.
Thank you for sharing your ideas and suggestions as to how we should start the school year. Discussions are taking place this summer to make those decisions and as soon as a plan is in place, I will communicate with everyone. In the meantime, I am on campus all summer if you need me.
